Mobile and based in Thurston, Suffolk, Gem regularly travels to venues across East Anglia to give you a look you will love and deserve. A Wife, and a Mum of three, Gem knows how good it feels to get glammed up for that special occasion.
From her days running around as a child covered in barbie pink lipstick, Gem has been makeup and beauty product obsessed ! From her late teens, through to today, she has always had compliments thrown at her for her amazing skills with a colour palette and some brushes. This led to her gaining 10 years’ + experience working within the beauty and skincare industry, both in a salon and in retail management.
From amazing skincare knowledge, to an eye for Makeup perfection, Gem uses the best brands to give you the look you deserve. From Weddings, Parties, Events and Bespoke Tutorials, Makeup By Gemma J has you covered.
Experience & Qualifications
In 2019 whilst scrolling through her instagram feed, Gem decided it was about time that she shared her makeup and beauty product obsession with others. That’s why she decided to rubber stamp her skills with a qualification in Makeup accredited by the Guild of Beauty Therapists. And since then the upskilling hasn’t stopped! With a passion to continuously develop, Gem is regularly seeking new training opportunities from the industries best.

I loved my glowing healthy looking skin after Gemma gave me a lovely make up which I wanted for a wedding. She used lots of bronzes and golds shades which I loved. Had my first ever make-up lesson with Gemma. She was brilliant, so patient and only laughed a little when we discovered that my false eyelashes weren’t stay on because I wasn’t putting glue on them 😬. Learnt so much in just one session!
